Human Rights & Justice in Asia

Confronting harassment and strengthening human rights protection systems

The Current State of Human Rights Protection in Asia

It is widely recognized that most Asian countries have relatively weak legal practices in human rights protection, particularly in harassment prevention and response. This systemic weakness affects all areas of society, including the treatment of women in engineering and technology fields.

Case Study: Legal Affairs Bureau Response in Japan

Regarding recent incidents in Osaka and Hiroshima, I contacted the Human Rights Protection Department of the Legal Affairs Bureau. Their response was deeply concerning:

🚫 Reporting Restrictions

For harassment cases, reports must be filed by the victim themselves or their family members. Reports filed by friends are rarely accepted for processing.

⚖️ Limited Authority

Even when reports are accepted (whether filed by the victim or reluctantly by friends), the only action they can take is: contacting the perpetrator to tell them "what you're doing is wrong" - with no actual investigative authority.

📊 The "00001" Pattern

Notably, whether I report on behalf of friends or for myself, my case number is always 00001. This doesn't mean "harassment doesn't exist in society" - it means "no one is willing to report."

The Price of Freedom

"If you have read the American national anthem, you might appreciate: Freedom is never free."

Yes, freedom comes at a cost. The reason America has robust human rights protection laws is precisely because of early revolutions led by people like Lucifer-type figures. If Americans were also timid and afraid, American society wouldn't be much better either.

🎬 Cultural Reflection: "回路" by 黒沢清

Japan has a famous film, 黒沢清's "回路": seemingly normal people commit suicide one after another, until all of Japan is covered with corpses.

I want to point out that unlike "Ju-On," what kills people in "回路" is not ghosts, but you (the audience)!

Imagine this scenario: If you see a classmate being harassed by a teacher at school, what would you do?

If you're timid and advise them to "submit" - then you become one of the perpetrators creating despair.

The Philosophy of Justice

As stated in "The Complete Revenge Handbook": Tolerating injustice is not justice. Being cowardly is not justice. Revenge is justice.

The Root Problem and Solution

Simply put: In Asian societies, what people lack most is courage and rationality. As long as these two are combined and the number of wise people increases, the entire social system can be refreshed.

🤖 AI-Powered Legal Reasoning Solution

To solve this problem, I plan to use Large Language Models for legal reasoning and develop a "Lucifer personality" through Few-Shot/Fine-tuning. This AI will:

  • 🔍 Teach you how to collect evidence
  • 🧠 Help with logical analysis
  • 💪 Enhance your courage and rationality
  • ⚖️ Address fundamental problems through legal means

📖 Algorithmic Transparency

To ensure algorithmic transparency, I plan to open-source this project on GitHub (currently still in development).

Building a Just Society

The path to justice requires both individual courage and collective action. By combining technological innovation with legal advocacy, we can create systems that protect the vulnerable and ensure equal opportunities for all, especially women in engineering and technology.
